Welcome to Saturday's Critters!
Hello and happy Saturday!
If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!
I have some yard birds and a yard critter to share for my post today. The Ruby-throated Hummingbirds continue to visit the 3 feeders I have hanging out for them. They are such fun to watch zooming around the yard and deck.
Lately I have been seeing more Cardinals, Chipping Sparrows and the White-breasted Nuthatch visiting my feeders.
Here is the deck raccoon, showing up in the daylight hours. Hubby bravely chased it away. The squirrels already emptied the squirrel proof bird feeder, but the raccoon was looking for leftover crumbs.
I have also been seeing some American Robins, maybe they have found some wild berries in the trees. This Robin posed nicely on the top of a pine tree.
Thanks to all my visitors and for all the wonderful comments. Stop back to see any replies to your comments. I appreciate everyone who loves critters and has linked up their critter post.
Here is my linky:
Also visit: I'd-Rather-B-Birdin. Thanks to the host Anni.

That pink feeder, it would entice even the most timid to come and feed. love the pine tree photo, super shot.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jean! I appreciate the visit and comment.
DeleteTake care, enjoy your day!
WOW! I 't ever remember you showing us a racoon at your feeders. I would have imagines if the squirrel had not emptied the feeder, the racoon would have Eileen. Love all the bird images. Thanks for hosting, stay safe and have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Margaret.
DeleteYes, the raccoon is a piggie and would have emptied the feeder.
Enjoy your day, happy weekend!
It’s so funny the way I, who am always late, can be first to link up here ... it’s because I’m on the West Coast, so it’s only 9 here ,and just before my bedtime.)) Thank you so much for hosting and showing your wonderful yard birds! I won’t be doing any birding or anything outside for awhile...The wildfires started here in Oregon last Monday night and we are under an air quality advisory. It’s really smoky out, But we are safe at home and many are not that fortunate.
ReplyDeleteHello Sallie,
DeleteI hope you and your family are safe from the fires. They look so scary and devastating.
Take care, enjoy your weekend!
Sweet the little birds are completely different from mine. The naughty raccoon was there too!
ReplyDeleteThese are great photos again!
I wish you a nice weekend, hug Elke
Thank you Elke!

ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy!

Hello Eileen.
ReplyDeleteI love those Hummingbirds. Raccoon looks cute, but too bad the raccoon eats the bird's food. Photo of robin is great. Have a wonderful weekend.
Hello Anu,
DeleteThank you for the comment!
Take care, enjoy your weekend!
Hello Eileen,
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky who gets visit from the hummingbirds. Beautiful photos. The Raccoon looks scary to me. I have visit from a badger every night who makes holes in my lawn. It's looking for insects to eat.
Happy Weekend!
Hello Marit,
DeleteYes, the raccoons are scary. They could have rabies.
Thanks for the comment. Have a happy weekend!
Beautiful bird photos, Eileen. The raccoon is checking out the feeder too but nothing's left. I never seen a raccoon at a bird feeder before, it's a great shot. Have a wonderful day and weekend. Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bill! The raccoons here will eat anything from trash to bird food.
DeleteTake care, enjoy your weekend!
Great critter post Eileen!

ReplyDeleteYour racoons are as cheeky as our Grey Squirrels! No fear in them. YAM xx
Thank you YAM!
DeleteIt can be worrying when these raccoons have no fear of humans.
Take care, enjoy your weekend!
Sweet shots.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment!

nice critters today. Always lovely to see hummers. The Robin, is that a female?? And there is a 4-legged masked critter around. And the little nuthatch is a sweety.
ReplyDeleteTake care don´t trust the masked ones :) :)
Thank you for the comment!
DeleteI love the sweet nuthatches too. I do not like the raccoons hanging around here.
Take care, enjoy your weekend!
i love the robin on the pine tree, the perfect perch... racoons are so cute, and yours are adorable. they are pest for sure. i worry about the one we rescued twice from the neighbors garbage can. sine we don't walk big boy no one will find him..
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandra!
DeleteTake care, enjoy your weekend!
I expect that your feeders will continue to attract new birds as the transient migrants move through and the winter residents arrive. For the first time that I can remember we had both White-breasted and Red-breasted Nuthatches visiting our feeders. As one left with a seed the other took its place. Great time of year!
ReplyDeleteThank you David!
DeleteI am hoping to see the Red-breasted Nuthatches here this winter.
Take care, enjoy your weekend!
The raccoon is a cutie.
ReplyDeleteThank you William!
DeleteCute but annoying to have hanging around here.
Take care, enjoy your weekend!
Raccoons can be such a nuisance for people, but I enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteThank you Marie!
DeleteThe raccoons are cute but scary because they could have rabies.
Take care, enjoy your weekend!
Love the nuthatch! We've got a few hummers still hanging around. The raccoons have never shown up during the day, but have been around overnight at times.
ReplyDeleteThank you Brian!
DeleteThese raccoons have become a nuisance in our neighborhood.
Take care, enjoy your weekend!
...I haven't see a raccoon in ages, which is perhaps a goof thing, most here are sick. Thanks Eileen for hosting, take care,
ReplyDeleteThank you Tom! I wish I didn't see these nasty raccoons in our yard.
DeleteTake care, enjoy your weekend!
Fantastiche fotografie.
ReplyDeleteBellissimo il procione.
Thanks so much for the comment!
DeleteHave a happy weekend!
Mas que lindo!Adorei todas e dessa vez fico com o guaxinim...Adorei! Lindo fim de semana! beijos, chica
ReplyDeleteThank you Chica!
DeleteEnjoy your day, happy weekend!
You remind me that now that I'm home and that it's fall, time to get more seed. I love the look of raccoons but boy -- don't get them in you chimney (or eating the seed!)
ReplyDeleteHello, Jeanie!
DeleteI hope the raccoons do go into our chimney, that would be awful.
I have been putting my birds feeders away for a bit, I think the raccoons have left.
Thank you! Have a great day and happy weekend!
I love all the sweet little bird shots and even the naughty raccoon too. Thanks so much for hosting Eileen. Have a fantastic weekend :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Martha!
DeleteHave a happy weekend!
awesome images of the hummingbirds!! i have kept up with cleaning and filling my 2 feeders but i have not been seeing them. nice capture of the nuthatch, mine usually show up around now, for peanuts on the deck rail!!
ReplyDeleteraccoons at night are a pain but expected. they say if they are wandering around during the day you should be careful, i'm sure you know that!! the weekend is suppose to be awesome, enjoy it!!!
Hello Debbie,
DeleteI wish these raccoons did not come during the day, our neighbor was seeing them at the recycle trash too.
The nuthatches are cute, I like seeing them too.
Thanks, enjoy your day! Happy weekend!
Great photos, as usual, Eileen. Especially interesting to see the raccoon as we don't have them in Australia, of course. From the comments I can guess they are a bit of a nuisance on the garden!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nick!
DeleteYes, the raccoons are a nuisance. If allowed they make a mess with the trash cans too.
Have a happy weekend!
PS: Thank you for hosting, Eileen. Have a great new week.
ReplyDeleteThanks again, Nick! Have a happy day!
Deleteah yes, squirrel proof. I gave up. They'll be gone when it gets cold. I think our hummingbirds are gone south. I miss them already. Haven't seen any in a couple days. I will leave the feeders up for any migrators. Happy Day.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gayle! Yes, there is no such thing as squirrel proof feeders.
DeleteHave a happy day and a great weekend!
You are blessed by seeing those hummingbirds so often Eileen.I love that robin on top of tree. I didn't know what to think when you described hubby chasing off the racoon. Do you mean they might attack? Of course we don't have racoons but I rather wish we did. Have a great day and thanks the link today.
ReplyDeleteThanks Phil! The raccoons can have rabies and they are not safe to have hanging around. Usually they would run right off, but lately one would be reluctant to leave. They can show their teeth and make hissing noises or growling noises. I try to make loud noises to spook them away! Hubby will chase them with a broom or stick. Have a great weekend!
DeleteRaccoons have recently arrived in this area.
ReplyDeleteHello Red,Thanks for the comment and visit!
DeleteI do not like having the raccoons here.
Hope you have a great day and a happy weekend!
Great pictures of the raccoon visiting your feeders. Do they come often?
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen!
DeleteHappy weekend to you!
That's fun! I'd just been thinking that I hadn't seen many robins about! I saw a couple this morning... maybe they are passing through.. winter is coming.
ReplyDeleteOur hummers are gone, I believe. Thanks for sharing yours!!!
Raccoons we've aplenty. I really like them.
Hello Jenn,
DeleteWe can see the Robins here year round, they do not always migrate. I am not a fan of raccoons, they scare me. I am still seeing hummers here, I will miss them when they fly south.
Thanks and enjoy your day!
We had a robin up in our cedar tree during nesting season. He let EVERYONE know from 6 AM til 6 PM that this was HIS yard.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dee!
DeleteMy Robins are usually quiet, it is the Blue Jays that are really loud.
Have a great weekend!
Hi Eileen, beautiful photos of these beautiful birds. And the raccoon. Are they dangerous ? Have a nice weekend. Greetings Caroline
ReplyDeleteThanks Caroline! The raccoon can carry a disease and are not really safe to have hanging around.
DeleteEnjoy your day, happy weekend.

Your photos carry a warm energy, E!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cloudia!
DeleteHave a happy weekend!
Toronto has a huge population of raccoons but their hours tend to be during the night so you don't see many during the day! I've been seeing flocks of robins so I think they are getting ready to head south. Thanks for hosting us, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteThank you RedPat!
DeleteEnjoy your day!
Wishing you a very happy new week ahead!
That's a bold Raccoon! I saw my first hummingbird of the fall season this past week. Time to put up the feeder!

ReplyDeleteThanks Kay! Enjoy your day!

Good morning Eileen, I hope you have some sunshine, seems we have cold rainy days mostly. Oh well, getting us prepared for the winter. That raccoon seems to feel right at home. Although they're cute, they can be bad news for our critters around me. Enjoy your weekend, and week ahead!
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen! I am always happy to see you visiting and linking up.
DeleteI hope your weather this week is nicer, take care and enjoy your day!
Brilliant Hummerbird, I am in love them. Beautiful the rest of them, but, that sweet Roccy, it was starving??????

Hello Eileen,

Funny that an other visitor as a racoon will do the same.

Nothing like hummers zipping around to liven up your day! I'm very jealous of your Nuthatch! The Robin image has whetted my appetite for the fall migration, which is already beginning in a small way here.
ReplyDeleteEileen, thanks for sharing your Natural World!
Thank you Wally!

All great photographs but my favourite is the the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thank you Jan!
DeleteTake care, enjoy your new week!
The raccoon looks healthy and happy. I got curious about the etymology of critter. Not much out there other than the word was supposedly coined in the mid-1800s. But I did learn more about the word raccoon. It's based on the Powhatan word for raccoon, and through the years, its spelling changed to the way we do today.:-) Cheers, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteThank you Su-sieee!
DeleteTake care, enjoy your new week!
Raccoons scare me, very brave of your husband to chase it off. Love your nuthatch photo. Hope you have a wonderful new week!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jean!

Aww...cute hummingbirds....we have "the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds" in our backyard too.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day
Thank you Tanza!
DeleteTake care, enjoy your new week!
Love seeing all your different creatures (we have no squirrels or raccoons, and most of your birds are unknown here). We visited our daughter one year when the hummingbird 'season' was happening and we loved them, darting and diving around the place (they are so fast!). Enjoy your weekend :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for commenting!
