Birds and Blooms

This past weekend I have been enjoying my backyard birds and all the pretty flowers in my yard and on my deck.  I am joining in on Mary's Mosaic Monday  with my mosaics and Mellow Yellow Monday with my yellow birds and lilies and Mary the Teach's Ruby Tuesday with my Cardinal and red flowers. I hope you enjoy my birds and blooms.

The hummingbirds are really attracted to red Salvia.

Below is the female Ruby Throated Hummingbird. The male shown in my mosaic has the pretty ruby red gorget.

The Stella Dora Lilies seem to grow well in our yard and are looking great.
The Lantana is one of my favorites I planted (hubby planted)  in a pot on my deck.

The Pine Warbler below looks similiar to the American Goldfinch but their beaks are shape different. You can see the Goldfinches above in my mosaic.

Thanks to the gracious host of these fun memes
and thank you for stopping by my blog for a visit.

Beautiful bird shots and mosaics. Since our dog died and left the yard, we are seeing a lot more wildlife including the birds. It's wonderful (though we miss our dog of course)

What a beautiful mosaic of birds & blooms! I'm jealous that you have a hummingbird who lingers - ours flit in and are gone in the blink of an eye!

Very nice photos, refreshing colors creates a good mood. You have quite a number of domestic birds in the yard. Here in Finland the summer is only just beginning and the birds have arrived in a few months ago nests. Swan broods and months after the chicks can be expressed. Have a nice day!

Just lovely, Eileen - your garden must give you enormous pleasure. I liked your egrets and herons, too. We have a heron that visits our garden, principally to fish though yesterday he was strolling around on the grass well away from the pond. One of these days I'll capture his protrait :-)

It seems that a garden can and will attract all sorts ov avians. I have not seen hummingbirds in our yard, but plenty of Cardinals (male and female) in all seasons. Pretty flowers are wonderful, and the feathered friends we have just add so much to the beauty all around...
