I am linking up with Camera Critters and I'd-rather-b-birdin
This is a hodge-podge post on some of the birds I see in my yard and at the nearby lake. And my cute Goldie Girl. They are forecasting rainy weather all day today, it seems like the weekends lately have not been the best for enjoying the great outdoors or a birding adventure.
Hubby and I took a walk to our lake last Monday, I was surprised to see some Hooded Mergansers. They saw us coming and quickly moved to the opposite side of the lake.
We also saw a group of Common Mergansers, nice to see some waterfowl on our lake.
The White-Breasted Nuthatch is one of my regulars and a fun bird to watch.
A row of Pine Siskins enjoying some birdseed along my deck railing.
A male House Finch with a couple Goldfinches, the House Finches are not usually regular visitors to my yard but I do see them occasionally.
Last but not least my Goldie Girl, so was snoring so loud I woke her. By the look on her face, she is thinking why did you have to wake me up?
To see more wonderful critters and photos please visit and join in on the fun with Misty Dawn's Camera Critters and to see some lovely birds check out I'd-rather-b-birdin
Thanks to Misty Dawn for hosting Camera Critters and to Anni the host of I'd rather-b-birdin. I wish everyone a great weekend and Happy Birding.

Loving your mixed bag Eileen! Every picture is just wonderful.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like it always rained on weekends this time of year back when I was still working (or course we were in Oregon.)
Our cat, Patches, snores very loudly too. Cute picture of Goldie Girl and always enjoy your bird pictures.
ReplyDeleteWe stopped at a great place to see water fowl on our way home from Niagara Falls. It was snowing at the time so didn't make the most opportune time for taking pictures. I would love to stop at the overlook on a nice day someday. I did get one pretty good picture of a seagull on floating ice. Be sure to check out the picture on Facebook.
Your Goldie girl is beautiful and the bird shots are lovely. I was out walking yesterday and heard the birds sing. It's starting to feel like spring!
ReplyDeletea lovely post as usual. :) We still have a lot of snow so I envy you.
ReplyDeleteYes, delicious photos with an exquisite combination of light and color, a nice place.
ReplyDeleteLove your puppy Eileen:) The Hooded Mergansers and Common Mergansers are so cool. The drakes and hens(?) are so different from one another with both species. Love 'em!
