I am linking up with Personal Photo Challenge and Our World Tuesday
This week's challenge is COLOR
I wish a Happy Mother's Day to all my blogging friends!
I am sharing some bird and blooms around my yard, especially timed for Mother's Day! This is my first attempt at the Personal Photo Challenge..this week is color..
Lately I've been seeing 4-5 Indigo Buntings in my yard. Above is the adult male, non-breeding male and a female bottom right.
Our pink Dogwood blooms, dogwood blooms mixed with a Redbud tree that is behind and an Azalea bush.
On this shot the Dogwood tree sits in front of the Redbud tree. I like the mixture of colors with the pink blooms from the Dogwood and the Purplish colors from the Redbud tree.
I am not sure what these pretty pink flowers are, it is a little bush. Also is a Titmouse and Bleeding Heart blooms..
These carnation like flowers are on a small bush next to our driveway.. They were planted before we moved in almost 25 years ago. I am not sure of their name?
We have a ton of red maple seedlings growing under our big red maple tree. These are in our front yard.
The collage above starting left is the adult male, middle is the female and on the right is the non-breeding male Indigo Buntings.
A non-breeding male Indigo Bunting..

I can't believe the dogwood and redbud you get down there! Beautiful! And an indigo bunting would be a rare sight around here.
How fortunate on the buntings! Love their brilliant blue!
What a beautiful springtime post! I love your blooming bushes ... I have a redbud & lilacs still in the early stages of budding. It must be heaven to see all of this around you when you step outside. Love the bird shots, especially the indigo buntings :) Have a great day Eileen! Wendy x

Absolutely beautiful pictures of your birds and flowers. The photo of the Redbud and Azalea is lovely. I like the self starts under the Maple tree too . . . wonderful post!
Beautiful collages! I have wondered recently the name of a blue bird and am now wondering if it is an Indigo Bunting. Will have to investigate further. Your shrubs and flowers and trees are so colorful and lovely. And I always enjoy seeing the birds that hang out with you. Quite a variety!
Everything looks so beautiful Eileen!! You have a fabulous place there, great for you, great for the birds!!

Maple seedling trees, a real bonus. And your colours, superb. Cheers, Jean.
A veritable rainbow of colourful mosaics, Eileen! I am particularly drawn to the vibrancy of the blues, especially as we have so few blue birds here (Blue tits apart ... and the occasional non-wild Peacock!).
Amazing shots and wonderful happy colors. The birds are so cute and wonderfully photographed.
Lindas cores em suas fotos! Parabéns!
Um abraço!
Beautiful colors in your photos! Congratulations!

A Happy Mother's Day to you... Hope today is a wonderful day.
I am improving with each passing day from my surgery --but the weekend was NOT a 'piece of cake' for me.... Oh Well... Keeps me honest, I guess... ha ha
Hugs,
Betsy
Eileen, your series of photos really are so beautiful today!!
I've not seen any Indigo Buntings yet, but I know I will, hopefully soon!!
I hope you've had a wonderful and enjoyable day!!
Perhaps we'll get Indigos here...they are so beautiful! Today I heard, then spotted a Rose Breasted Grosbeak!!! It was a great Mother's Day gift along with seeing the eagles...:)JP
Thank you for joining in on the monthly photo challenge! I hope you have been having fun visiting with everyone.
You must have a beautiful yard. I adore those indigo buntings. Sure wish they would visit us in Tennessee! And I am astounded about the amount of seedlings you have underneath the japanese maple tree. You could make some money off of those as transplants, LOL, but they make a beautiful carpet in their current state. I don't know what that bush is with the pink flowers, but the blooms are quite lovely!
Enjoyed these photos from around your yard today Eileen. The Indigo Buntings are gorgeous, love that blue color. Happy Mother's Day! :)
We have indigo buntings around, I've seen them on a birding hike way up in the trees but this is a treat to see them up close and personal. Aren't the breeding males handsome!
Beautiful, colorful birds and love the pink dogwood!! And the red maple!!
Beautiful, though, [non-breeding] Indigo Bunting is special.
The indigo bunting are such a treat for me to see as I don't believe we have them here ~ at least I have never seen one . I will have to research their territory them now. Great shots
what lovely colours! The indigo buntins are so sweet
Hi Eileen, Spectacular! I still have not ever seen a Blue Bunting! Hope to some day. Your pictures are fabulous! Have a great week!
That is interesting that the splotchy male is non breeding. I've learned so much through these bird link ups!
Wow ... what have you again a wonderful blog created by Eileen. The color splashes from there, and I think that's so beautiful to see. Beautiful colors of the birds but also the flowers. Very nicely done. My compliments.
Happy Mother's Day to you Eileen. The flowers in your post are glorious - spring has well and truly arrived it seems. And that blue bird is delightful.
Have a wonderful week. And thankyou for stopping by my blog last week - I am playing catch up!
pretty photos
Love how your collages mix the birds and blooms. Really pretty! How lucky that you have so many indigos visiting your yard.
What beautiful colors in all the photos!!!!
Such an amazing time of year!!!
So much colour in your photos that it would be difficult to choose a favourite but those buntings are just so eye catching.
Such a beautiful, colorful world you have, Eileen!! Your captures never fail to bring a smile and your world is always a delight to visit! Thanks for sharing the beauty!! Have a great week!
how beautiful is your garden with all the cheerful blooms. the birds are as equally happy to be there as the humans, methinks.
Great, colorful gallery. Those Indigo Buntings are beautiful.
If I would have such beauty in my yard, I would never travel again! I'm puzzled how you have time to bird watch at other places and also take care of your yard??
What a spectacular display of colors! Absolutely gorgeous, my friend.
A carpet of color! Wow--the flowers and birds are all so beautiful! Sorry I got twisted up in what I needed to comment on. :-)
The Bunting is a beautiful bird, wonderful shots for owt and photo challenge.
Beautiful colors especially those male buntings! Wow - such a beautiful vivid blue!
so lovely to see the blue birds. We caught a blue king fisher when I was young. It won't eat, so we let it go.
What lovely splashes of colour - love the blossoms and those Indigo Buntings.
Your yard is full of beauty! Lovely blooms and birds. I've just planted a redbud tree this spring, I hope it survives.
"Viewing Nature with Eileen" has been included in Sites To See #369. Be assured that I hope this helps to point many new visitors in your direction.

so much beautiy it is almost hard to believe. :)
Beautiful shots of your birds and blooms. The flowers of the unknown bush remind me of our peach or plum trees. They have that same coloring and form.
I love the colorful birds and flowers. Great shots!
I love how you matched many of the birds with the same color flowers, Eileen! They are all beautiful photos. Do you believe we had snow on Mother's day? We had a foot of sow but it only stuck on the trees and grass--the roads and sidewalks were too warm and it all melted on them as it fell. Today the sun melted most of it. The poor hummingbirds were so confused by the snow--I felt sorry for them and ran out and bought a feeder to help them along ;)
Beauiful! I wish my backyard looked like this!
Oh beautiful blooms and yes the flowers that look like carnations. Nice that it was left for you 25 years. Love them.
Your birds are awesome !
