  3. What a great collection! I think my favourite would be that little fluffball of a Pine Warbler, though there are several there I'd love to see, and a few others I really enjoyed seeing.

  13. Very nice collection of bird photos. I hope to see a snowy owl early next year, as I did this year. The snowy owls are at Presque Isle in Erie, but once again I don't feel I can walk the 2 miles out and 2 miles back to see Them!

  17. With such a great selection you made it very difficult to pick my favourite Eileen. I think it has to be the American Bittern though because they are so difficult to see hiding in the reeds like they do.

Wishing you the Best of Birding in 2015.

I enjoyed looking at your favorite photos and liked and was surprised by your July photo with the Blue Heron with a GATOR in the background!!!! In Maryland?????
    Yikes!!

    1. Suzan, I had to go back and look at my July photo with the Little Blue Heron.. I think the "gator is actually a log or something sticking out of the water.. I am pretty sure there are no gators in Maryland..

  64. It looks like you had a super year in 2014 Eileen! I wish you all the best birding in 2015 as well. Due to other commitments I haven't been able to make the rounds of my favorite blogs for quite some time and I apologize for that. I am totally envious of the Snowy Owl photo and sighting. I still have never seen one (yet). You got a super shot of the Virginia Rail but it is really fair to show us the magnificent Violet Sabrewing from Belize? I'm turning green now ;-)

Love the Green Heron and Bittern but I'm amazed at the Dusky Grouse photo! What did you do, almost step on the poor bird? Great sighting!

Have a wonderfully Happy and Prosperous New Year Eileen!
