Happy Monday everyone!
I hope everyone is feeling well, taking care. We recently did our food shop getting most of what was on our shop list. Hubby and I are well, taking our walks locally. Sometimes we see others walking on the fire roads. Most of the time it's just us, the trees and the birds.
Around our yard, hubby has cleaned the leaves out of the ponds. The rabbit statues are placed in their spot in the garden. We are seeing a lot of frog eggs in one pond.
Living next to a forest, we are constantly having leaves fly into our yard. Our bunnies do not care about the carpet of leaves. BTW, I have been seeing at least 2 live bunnies in our yard. A chipmunk too!
A look at our local Great Blue Herons on their nest. These are views from the local fire road near our home.
A pretty sky, a peaceful and calm day in the neighborhood.
Some scenes from our fire road walk. A few more trees came down, we had to climb over them or walk around. We have been having some windy days.
A view looking up, from our fire road walk through a pine tree forest.
This hawk has been hanging around the yard, it look large maybe a female? I was guessing at the id, a Red-shouldered Hawk. The same day I saw a smaller hawk on the side of our yard, maybe a Cooper's or the Sharp-shinned hawk. I was not able to get a photo of the smaller hawk.
My wish for you, stay calm and healthy. Enjoy life and be happy!

Beautiful bright yellow flowers to brighten up the day. You can enjoy the nature around you without having to worry about social distancing. Over here, there are road blocks to discourage us from venturing out except to buy essentials and only 1 person from each household is allowed out. Stay healthy and stay safe.

I will be trying out the new seniors only hour tomorrow morning at WM and hope the shelves have something on them.. we are getting low on supplies
ReplyDeleteHello Sandra, Good luck at the store. Our last shop trip was awful, empty shelves all around the food section. Enjoy your day, have a great new week!
DeleteVery pretty hawk pictures! I miss seeing the two hawks nesting on my office building. I wonder if they have eggs yet. My husband saw two toads on our patio Friday night. That's the day it was so warm (78) and gnats were everywhere! Today we are back to freezing weather (just around 32 here). Stay healthy and safe!
ReplyDeleteHello Vera, I hope the Hawks nest is successful. Take care! Thanks and enjoy your day!

ReplyDeleteHello, thanks so much for the visit and comment. I hope you stay safe and healthy! Enjoy your day, have a great new week!
DeleteThe heron in the fir tree (left photo) is GORGEOUS. That one needs to be framed and hung.
ReplyDeleteI am starting to see a little color in the trees along Cedar Hill Rd. (out my craft room window). The red maples and the Bradford pear are starting. Way down the road I can see a forsythia. YAY --- spring might actually be on the way for real.
Hello Dee, Thanks, I do enjoy seeing the herons closeby! The spring colors and blooms are looking pretty now. Take care and stay well. Have a great new week!
DeleteThat little bunny sure is sweet! Lots to see when you get outside. People are walking in our neighborhood but still very few on the forest trails. We saw 2 people total yesterday! Take care and stay healthy my friend. Hope you're reading a good book. I'm still reading a Charles Finch book. Hugs!

DeleteI am so ready for a day with skies like these! Hoping we have a bit of sunshine at some point today...it does not look too promising right now. It would be so much fun to live that close to the rookery....I enjoy your shots so much. And I LOVE your fire trail.

Delete...you sure have some mighty special things in your part of the world.
ReplyDeleteYes, we are lucky! Take care! Have a happy day!

ReplyDeleteThanks Anni! We do enjoy the season! Take care! Have a happy day!

DeleteHi Eileen
ReplyDeleteYour world looks as beautiful as always with so much nature in your backyard! I love your ceramic bunnies. We leave leaves on the ground all winter as the deer eat them, but once all our snow melts we are going to do a big clean up. Stay healthy!
Hello Pat, we still have lots of leaves to move. They just keep blowing around. Thanks for the comment.
DeleteTake care! Have a happy day and a great new week!
What a wonderful place to live. We have woods and a creek that back up to our property and so much wildlife. I enjoy it everyday and right now it helps keep me grounded while the world is in turmoil.
ReplyDeleteStay in and safe.

DeleteI'm waiting for my first bunny. We had snow this morning. Not likely to appear quite so soon, though who knows?
ReplyDeleteStress level is high here and viruses rising exponentially. Our governor locked us down today -- essential services only. Stay at Home till April 13. No egg hunt with the little ones this year, I'm afraid. But that's OK. Rick is getting groceries and I am staying in with Lizzie, who is blissfully unaware of everything but lunch, nap, and good girl treats. I envy her.
Hello Jeanie! I am wondering how this will affect most of the Easter holiday! I love your cute Lizzie.
DeleteTake care and stay calm! Have a happy day and a great new week!

DeleteEileen - I look at these photos, or even out my window at the clouds floating in the blue sky, and it is possible to imagine for the moment that the pandemic is just a bad dream. Love the daffodils - we are still a long ways from any flowers here! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday, and stay well!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful beautiful windows of nature you brought to us again Eileen. I'm just very fascinated of these giant herons on how they can perch on branches with their majestic size. Please stay safe and thank you for taking us where you took us, without us leaving home or even our desks.

Mmmm, I'm loving the fresh air in all your photos. I'm finding that one of the upsides with fewer people wandering about in their cars. We're noticing a few more birds, and different ones, visiting our yard. I hope they're finding food back there. They can definitely find things for their nests. Thanks for the look-see of your part of the world, Eileen, especially of the daffodils in bloom. They always give me a smile. :-) Take care.
ReplyDeleteOnce again you've spoiled us with a great selection of photographs and mosaics.
ReplyDeleteLove the daffodils such a cheerful colour and the sky shots too … lovely blue sky.
Have a good week, stay safe and well.
