Happy Father's Day!
These photos were taken during last weekend's walk at the Irvine Nature Center. I have been there a few times with my bird club on walks and with my hubby. It has woodlands, fields and a marshy area.
A couple of my other posts on our visit to the Irvine Nature Center Le Contes-Sparrow and Birding Irvine Nature Center
Our walk at the nature center took us past the wigwam and the firepit. We also saw a lot of the Cabbage White Butterflies.
I loved walking along the trail next to the wildflowers. They were a bright cheery spot on the field. Do flowers make you happy and smile?
I am pretty sure this is an Eastern Wood-Pewee.
Seeing the Eastern Bluebirds is always a treat for me, they are one of my favorites. We also saw a lot of tree swallows and the Eastern Wood Pewee. I hope you enjoyed going on my walk and seeing the birds and wildflowers.
I hope you enjoyed my post and photos. Thanks for visiting my blog and post. I always appreciate your comments.

Beautiful place to spend time among nature: flowers, butterflies, birds.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, what a riot of colourful blossoms, no wonder you were smiling, I would be too. Beautiful bluebird too.
ReplyDeleteAmazing how many flowers are in bloom there right now! I love the bluebird photos.
ReplyDeleteI'm still so new to birding that I have to check and recheck my bird books every time I photograph a flycatcher. It's frustrating but I guess I'll finally get it someday. :))
I like your striking white theme today Eileen. The bluebird shots are super, as is the pewee but I can't help with the ID except to say I'm sure you are correct. Have a great week ahead and don't work too hard but save some energy for birding.
ReplyDeleteHello Eileen
ReplyDeleteA beautiful field of wildflowers, and it does give me a happy feeling looking at them. I've noticed there are so many daisies blooming in the fields here right now and I love seeing them.

ReplyDeletea lovely place to visit and you got some wonderful photos Eileen. So you have those white cabbage moths too; they love my nasturtiums at the moment! I give up; I don't like using sprays so figure it's food for the magpies, they generally come and check for them. I wonder if those you photographed were down there drinking water???
ReplyDeleteThe wildflowers are gorgeous! I miss seeing bluebirds. Your shots are awesome!

ReplyDeleteHi Eileen. I love, LOVE your wildflower and bird photos. At my cabin I'm trying to grow as many wildflowers as I can and am having a terrific amount of luck.
