Saturday's Critters #31

Saturday's Critters #31

I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July yesterday and is having a great holiday weekend!

It's that time to share your critters. I hope to see you join in with the Saturday Critter Party. I have some more photos from our last weekend walk along George's Creek. The creek and trail is just  a short drive from our house..

These pretty dayliles are along the creek..For the last three weekends hubby and I have gone back to the same trail for a walk, the daylilies are blooming and look beautiful.

 The Great Blue Heron fishing..

 A family of Wood Ducks..

I am not sure if this is Great-Crested Flycatcher, Wood PeWee or the Eastern Phoebe. I was hearing all three calling..

I believe this is the female Common Whitetail Dragonfly. The male would have the white tail. Besides birds I enjoy taking photos of any kind of wildlife that includes dragonflies.

Noushka's blog has some amazing dragonfly shots.  You should check her blog..

I am not sure of this dragonfly id, any help is appreciated.

Hubby and I sat and watched the Heron and Wood Ducks hoping that the Bald Eagles from the previous week would make an appearance..while having a rest I did enjoy listening to the Wood Thrushes.

This video is for the bird songs and not photos.

I hope you enjoyed my post this week.  Thank you for linking up to the critter party. I appreciate the visits, comments and the support of my blogging friends.. Have a happy weekend!

  3. You're good to know the dragonfly id, Eileen. I also love to take ANY critters out in the wild and normally have to ask for help in knowing them. Great lilies and water birds on that creek. Hope you're still enjoying your 4th July weekend. Jo

  5. HI Eileen
Love the quietness of that place and the bird sounds. Did you know your video are rolling over to show many of them? I am not complaining and am enjoying them. I got my laptop back and was able to link in although my laptop is still missing emails now and my computer man is coming back today!. Now I know how you get those fantastic moon shots. is that a video camera or a still camera with video you are using? It certainly can zoom in close. Have a wonderful weekend.

  7. Hi Eileen I am still watching your videos and wondered what the large birds were high up in the sky on the video right before the angry Jays. Looks like birds of Prey but I know you will know. that is a wonderful deck to sit and watch the birds. I have stopped the video to write this to you! May be more questions!!

  9. Such a nice walk filled with critters. I have NO idea how you get a photo of a dragonfly. I had a really neat one yesterday in the garden--never saw this one before, but do you think he'd (she?) would sit still for one second?? No! On the bright side, I spent a glorious hour following it around so I guess that's all that matters.
    Enjoy the weekend

  12. When I read you liked dragonflies, I was going to suggest you visit Nouska...then I saw you already met her, Eileen! Your bird in question looks like our Eastern Phoebes that we have nesting...on the front porch. This place is right down the road...you are lucky!...:)JP

  17. Eileen . . .
Love seeing Saturday Critters through your eyes!
I have heard different names for lilies in the past week.
    Ditch lilies . . .
    Out House Lilies
    Tiger Lilies
    Day Lilies
    Old Lilies
No matter . . . I think of them as my "original lilies." Mine surround an old oak tree with an old bitter sweet vine attached . . .
    Happy day to you . . .
