I am linking up with Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday
I hope everyone does not mind but I am still going thru our photos from Nags Head and the Outer Banks, North Carolina.. We had a great time enjoying the ocean, beach and all the birds.. The sunrises and sunsets were amazing, just the kind of trip hubby and I enjoy...all about nature...
Above a Northern Harrier, sunrise, shadow shot, American Wigeon, Song Sparrow, moon.
Sunrise at Nags Head. "Delight in the beauty that surrounds you" unknown author. A quote that hubby and I live by...
In the mosaic above are some Sanderlings on the beach, Great Egrets, White Ibis in flight, GB Heron & Coots, Brown Pelicans on the beach and sunset..
I always enjoy watching the Northern Harrier. Some Tundra Swans in the distance are feeling safe.
At sunset a few Brown Pelican on the island, near their rookery. It was amazing seeing so many Brown Pelicans! There were more Pelicans then I could fit in one photo.
Just for fun...here is my great-nephew Neill with Santa..I believe this is the first time I have seen him crying..He is still a cutie! I hope you enjoyed my post and photos..
I hope you can join in on our fun at Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday

Great photos! No, I'm not tired of your photos from the Outer Banks. A place I hope to visit someday.
ReplyDeleteIt's always lovely to see beautiful sunsets and interesting birds.
ReplyDeleteBut the best photo this time is the one of your great-nephew!! He is such a cutie!
What a sweet little guy! I hope he got a present or at least some candy. Love your amazing photos! Happy holidays, Diane
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen I love the Northern Harrier and the sunrise shots. Your post is superb. It's good to see Neil again; sorry that Santa scared him! Have a great day. Jo
ReplyDeleteOh sad baby boy, having to sit on the lap of an old man with a funny dress on, just kidding. Lovely blog you are writing.
ReplyDeleteOlá Eileen, as fotos estão magnificas!
ReplyDeleteAdorei esse nascer do sol!
O seu sobrinho é um amor de criança, mesmo a chorar...
Abraços e uma boa semana.
Ailime
the first time i saw Santa, in 1947 or 48 i screamed the house down, that was the last time to... he is adorable.. such beautiful sunsets and love the two shadow people
ReplyDeletePoor Neill. Santa can be quite frightening to a child - all that hair and a bright red suit!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could see more Northern (Hen) Harriers, let alone take photos like that. Great sunsets again.
Have a lovely week Eileen.
Absolutely gorgeous shots and then a good laugh at the end :)
ReplyDeleteI do not mind at all your continuing on with your Nags Head photos...goodness I took nearly 2 months to complete our journey shares. I would love to see a Harrier so close. I got my first photo ops with them this past September and missed the greatest shot, when it flew up in front of our windscreen...goodness~
ReplyDeleteWhat a sunrise! Gorgeous. I always enjoy seeing the birds through your adventures. Poor little guy ... guess Santa was too much to take with the Ho Ho HO!
ReplyDeleteYour harrier photo reminds me that our local wetlands have been neglected so long that invasive shrubs have completely covered most of the wet prairies. I no longer see the harriers coursing back and forth. Sad.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos and beautiful sunsets.
ReplyDeleteCute picture of Santa and your great nephew.
I have a couple of my old photos with me crying on Santa's lap too. : )
Lindas fotos e a do Neill com o Papai noel, maravilhosa,rs bjs, chica
ReplyDeleteReally nice photos, Eileen. Neill doesn't look too happy. lol. I've been derelict in my blogging duties. It's just hard to stay sitting in front of a computer during the holiday season. Don't give up on me!
ReplyDeleteHello Eileen!!Poor Neill ,being scared of Santa!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures Eileen!Great images of the sunset the sunrise and those beautiful birds that you saw on your trip!Love the shadow picture!Have a happy week!
Dimi...
I really enjoyed seeing the Outer banks for the first time this past summer, Eileen, so I am enjoying looking at your photos. Ther eis much more bird migration when you were there than during the summer. Santa Claus can be scary to a baby--this is a cute photo!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind. Your photos are wonderful !
ReplyDeleteOh my, what stunning shots of the Outer Banks! It has been several years since I have been there but get to Carolina Beach as often as I can...which is NOT often enough! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are still going through your photos rom the Outer Banks -- they are all gorgeous. I don't think I would want to leave such a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous sunrise and lovely quote. Poor Neill, one of the phases likely where the kiddies make strange.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to Mosaic Monday Eileen.
I never get tired of your pictures. I just love coastal scenes. I think a lot of children cry when they see Santa. He's pretty scary.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to be back to visit here and view your lovely pictures. They are always inspiring!!! Wishing you well!! Cathy
ReplyDeleteAww- he is adorable! I love your sunrise shot- so gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful colours in your pictures! I can't decide which one I like most!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, I have a similar picture with shadows, taken in Australia, take a look if you like: http://www.miss-red-fox.de/2014/11/ipmk9-ein-flugticket-nach-australien.html
All the best and have a nice week,
Ioana
A very nice collection of photos!
ReplyDeleteYour mosaics are always interesting and lovely, and I'm sure we're all still enjoying your trip. I sympathize with Neil - apparently I cried too!
ReplyDeleteI've been enjoying these photos Eileen. Especially liked the harrier ... what a solid looking bird! And poor little Neill!! Sometimes those trips to Santa are just torture. I could never get my son to sit with Santa. I have one photo of both my kids standing behind Santa while the dog sat on Santa's lap! Wendy x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous area! I love the sunrise and sunset! Poor little fella! LOL!

Beautiful series of images. The sunrise is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI love the shots from your trip, especially the sun's reflection on the wet sand. Poor little guy is shy of Santa. So cute for us but not him.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scenic and birds. It is one place I would love to visit.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous place to hang out, Eileen. Poor little guy! Our first child was terrified of Santa the first time she saw him. We have a very similar photo. So cute, but so sad at the same time. We never took her little sister and brother to see Santa.
ReplyDeleteLove the sun pics . . . and the pelicans. Sorry your nephew went through the Santa terror!
ReplyDelete(Cute pic though!)
Your photo's are all so beautiful Eileen. The birds the sun the moon and the sights. Wonderful. Have a nice week

AW! I bet your grand nephew was scared! So many pelicans! WOW!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Eileen. The moon shot is lovely, as are all of your bird and landscape photos. There are some places that inspire one to take many, many photos.
ReplyDeleteThat little man with Santa is a darling. Hope he soon warmed up to Santa.
I always find it fascinating how some children will cry with Santa...me I was always fascinated and happy with Santa....I for one do not mind your photos ever! Glad you shared them with us...

Hi! Nice captures of the sunrise and sunset. Your photos are very beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen! I love all your bird photos and stunning scenery but fell in love with little Neill. I think he is a little younger than my great-nephew (who is 3). I'm betting next year, Neill will be all over Santa Claus, presenting his checked-twice list :) Have a wonderful Tuesday!
