Saturday Critters #89
Happy Saturday everyone, it's time to share your critter posts. Any kind of critter will do, even a new or old post.. I appreciate everyone who is taking time and linking in with this week's critter party.
I am sharing some more birds and critters from our day trip to Bombay Hook NWR in Delaware. It is a great outing, seeing lots of Great Egrets, Snowy Egrets, Great Blue Herons, Little Blue Herons, my first Monarch of the season and a cute turtle and frog shot.
Gret Egret reflections.
A fuzzy looking Great Blue Heron, could be an older juvie?
Two juvenile Little Blue Herons. The leg color and beak are the difference between the heron and egrets.
My first of the season Monarch Butterfly
The turtle is a Slider, can you find the frog?
A view of the Egrets and the dark spots are a few Glossy Ibis mixed in this group, seen from the wildlife drive at Bombay Hook NWR. I hope you enjoyed my critter post.
As always I always appreciate my blogging friends stopping by just for a visit and for leaving a comment. Also thanks to all who have been participating with my Saturday's Critters, you are all the best blogging friends.

Happy weekend!
wonderful reflections and long-legged crew. :) adorable frog and turtle shot.
so many snowy egrets. It is amazing to see. :) And I like that colorful turtle.
Thanks for hosting Saturdays critters. Have a good week. :)
I enlarged that one shot so I could see the frog (I did) and this is the first time I realized I could look at your wonderful pictures as a slide show! I love that!!! Very cool. Thank you for hosting. As alwaysl
The first pic is stunning! Such a beautiful composition with undisturbed reflections.
These are FINE, E!
I'll link up in the morning, Honey
The blue heron is SO gorgeous
Wonderful critters. I love the butterflies. Have a great weekend, Eileen!
Hello Eileen,
Amazing to see all these egrets together, I guess mostly juveniles getting together.
The heron also seems to be a youngster from this season or the one before, it has little of adult colourings.
I wish we had that many ardeidé birds around to catch all those invasive crayfish we got here!!
Enjoy your weekend and keep well!
Beautiful photos
~ Have a nice weekend ~
Dearest Eileen; Such WONDERFUL photographs of egrets and herons. Fabulous reflection photo♡♡♡ Monarch Butterfly is really beautiful with pretty flower and different angle♬♬♬
Have a wonderful and healthy(p:)weekend☆☆☆

Thank you Eillen for hosting such a wonderful meme! Your photos are so inspiring and I love the first one showing the egrets reflection.

My favorite is the turtle and frog "face-off" .
Egrets are such beautiful birds, aren't they?
Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Eileen
A lovely selection of birds, animals and insects today Eileen. All those egrets in the marshy grass are amazing. And of course it's great to see the Monarch again. It must be a special time of the year when the Monarchs arrive.
Thanks again for hosting the day. Have a lovely weekend and take it easy.
Hi Eileen, what beautiful reflections of the Great Egrets in your first photos. I also love the Slider with red dots on its shell and stripes on its neck. All great critters. Thanks for hosting. Have a great weekend. Jo
So many Egrets in that pond but the Heron and Egrets in the first few shots with their reflections are great shots. Many thanks for hosting and I hope you have a lovely weekend.
I like the two herons on the branch!!!
The Monarch Butterfly is a delight. Tom The Backroads Traveller

...again I draw breath... YAM xx
Your swamp full of Egrets is amazing, so many curvy necks. The Monarchs are really special, I love the black with white speckles on the body and wing edges.
What a rich habitat for the herons! The Little Blue Herons displayed their leg and bill colors nicely. I saw few Monarchs in Florida and now in Illinois I found only one so far, and no caterpillars on the abundant milkweed. Wonderful variety of wild critters!
Oh Eileen, all of your photographs are awesome! I'd be so tickled to get to see them in person and to photograph them, you lucky lady!! Thanks for hosting such a wonderful party, love it!
Have a great Saturday, sweet friend!
Nancy
Beautiful photos as always! :))
Love the reflection in the first one
and yes, I did find the frog :)
Have a beautiful and happy weekend Eileen!

Thank goodness we no longer collect egret feathers for fashion purposes. Those birds wouldn't last long; they are so gorgeous in their finery.
I'm amazed there are so many egrets in one spot! I still have not seen a monarch yet even though I have a Buddlea in full bool just outside my kitchen door. This seems very BAD too me! I'm worried!
Hi, Eileen! Such a treat to see the lovely birds and the Monarch. Hope you have a lovely weekend!
Had to lean in close for the frog.
The reflection in the first photo is perfect.
The Monarchs are so very beautiful!
They're so lovely! No monarchs here.
I love your butterflies; but then, I am biased because I adore butterflies. It makes me happy to see a Monarch as their population is declining fast. I haven't seen one hereabout in over two years and that makes me sad.
Wonderful photos ! The Herons here in the marsh by our river are very skittish and take off at the sight and sound of someone with in 100 feet of them ,your lucky those ones there dont lol ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good weekend !
Eileen, egret photo is stunning. Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful series of critters Eileen. You photographed them beautifully. Thanks so much for hosting and have a great weekend.
Great photos of beautiful birds and butterflies (your header photos are gorgeous)!
Have a lovely weekend!
Love those long legged birds!
Nice to see the turtle and frog together.
I love your Great Egrets and reflections you captured. And the monarch butterfly is special. I've been reading a lot about their decline in population.
Happy Saturday, Eileen. Lovely photos especially the one with reflection and the monarch. Thanks for hosting. :)
Nice Monarch photos! I hope they will make a come back. We're planting milkweed in Minnesota.
I'm in again for your critter party. You opened with my favorites, Egrets, (marvelous captures too) and of course the lovely Heron! Your butterflies and turtles and all are great but the Egrets and Herons have such a draw for me! Enjoy your happy Saturday all weekend too!
Precious reflections, eileenin. I love butterflies;)
Good weekend.
Besos.
Another gorgeous selection of shots from you, Eileen. This is a wonderful part fo the world you have visited.
Thanks for hosting.
I see a story in the making, with photographs!
The Turtle and the Frog!
c. 2015 . . .
Now I know where all of the Egrets are ... we have had so few this year it is concerning. But, yours are beautiful as is your fuzzy heron and your well disguised frog. Another thing we are missing here is the Monarch Butterfly ... I sure don't know what happened. Maybe because of all the rain we had in the first half of summer. Love your post, Eileen, always do :)

Egrets are such elegant birds! Thanks for hosting and a happy weekend!
Great selection of images. Love the reflection in the first one.
Great collection of critters, as always!
Happy weekend!
Irene
I would have missed the frog had you not pointed him out.
Great photos of the egrets...especially the reflection photo!
Great collection of photos - so many similar birds to Australia. The Sliders are found here but considered an environmental pest as they were introduced. Nice to see them in their natural environment.
Look at all those egrets! WOW! And if it's not raining and we can get out tomorrow, I'm going to be looking for butterflies. I haven't seen as many this summer! Sweet hugs, Diane
Beautiful Egrets and Herons Eileen!
I love the one of the fuzzy young heron - very sweet and a great photo!
The large colony of White Egrets is a great sight to see!
Thank you for hosting Saturdays Critters Eileen.
Shane
Your egrets and herons are spectacular!
Hi Eileen, these are lovely critters. Blessed Sunday!
Superb captures and really enjoy all the beautiful photos here! Great reflection with the Egret and I find the legs of blue herons and slider turtle interesting.
What a wonderful trip you had. Love all your images - the young blue heron is my favourite.
Thanks, Eileen, for sharing this linked post at I'd Rather B Birdin' this weekend.
Hi Y'all!
Missing the water birds when we're summering in the mountains. Thanks for the beautiful photos.
Y'all come on by,

Hi Eileen,

Have a great Sunday.
Best, Synnöve
Super photo's, and amazing reflections on the those Egrets ...
Yes, I did spot the frog!
Hope you are having a happy weekend.
All the best Jan
Oh look at the turtle. The gray bird was so pretty. I saw a turtle in the road on the way to church in the spring when it was so rainy here.
And on the other end of the road ducks. No camera's. duh!
Sorry I haven't linked. But I noticed it's still open a few more days. I have a couple of friends photo's I might borrow and link. They aren't bloggers. Thanks for coming by. Have a great week.
Hey Eileen,
Very wonderful pictures.
Great that heron and wonderful how you photograph that butterfly.
Many greetings,
Marco
Hi Eileen, I enjoyed all your photos in this Saturday's Critters. What an interesting name ...Bombay Hook. Will have to Google it and see if they say how they came up with the name. Congrats on Saturday's Critters ... 65 participants in the meme as I am writing this comment. Wishing you a fine week ahead!
Lovely shots as always Eileen, especially that first one with the beautiful reflections of the great egrets!
I can never get great pix of Egrets...not like you do, Eileen! And did I find the frog? Of course, I did. I find Eagles in trees remember...:)JP
Beautiful.
Hi Eileen, I really enjoy seeing herons in white phase. Great pictures of the youngsters. Have a really fine coming week!
I like the egrets and Ibis photos, Eileen! Hope to join in this upcoming Saturday!
Great shots all. Monarch butterfly shots are so well timed!
Gorgeous photos, Eileen!
You get such a sense of peacefulness in your photos...like having the pond to yourself and enjoying the wildlife. Really lovely shots.
Another set of wonderful bird images! Those butterflies are gorgeous!
What a mess of birds! And that first is a super reflection!
What spectacular photos, Eileen! We saw some egret-type birds in a Vancouver garden yesterday and thought of you immediately. Sadly, they were plastic :) I do love seeing these birds on your blog that we will never see in the wild in this part of the world.
Hello Eileen.. I'm back. Just edited my post to add a hawk we saw this morning and I'm wondering if you might have an idea of its id. I rushed off this morning (my piano teacher was doing his doctoral defence) and that is how we saw the hawk. It flew into one of the trees on campus (UBC) and we had just enough time to catch a quick shot of it. While I'm here, I must say that I loved that Monarch Butterfly. Your slider was a beauty as well, and yes, I did see the frog :) Many, many thanks for hosting!
That Blue Heron photo is absolutely gorgeous!!
