I am linking up with Skywatch Friday and Good Fences
I hope you can join in on the fun and share your fence scenes and pretty skies.
For my Skywatch Friday and Good Fences I am sharing some Ocean City Maryland scenes from our last visit there. For those who are not familiar with my home state of Maryland, we are located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Appalachian Mountains. I guess you could say we have the best of both worlds with the ocean and the mountains.
Hubby and I enjoyed a little trip to the beach, we enjoyed the sunsets, sunrises and all the cool birds. I met up with an old high school friend, we had a nice reunion. We had not seen each other in 30 years or so. It was a great trip!

The sunrise from our room..We got a great deal from Quality Inn on the boardwalk, awesome price for the two nights. How could we turn that down? I hope this balcony railing counts as a fence shot.
We watched the sunrise from our balcony..

may every sunset bring you peace." unknown author
Along with watching the sunrise, I was able to watch this flock of Black Skimmers on the beach.
During the day we drove over to Assateague Island to look for more birds and the wild horses. The horses were greeting people right at the entrance gate of the Assateague Island National Seashore.
A couple brought their own horses to Assateague for a ride on the beach. Some more beach fences for Tex's Good Fences.
We counted at least 6 Great Egrets at Assateague, only 3 are shown in this photo.
The view of the beach and boardwalk from our room..Not sure what the sideways row of fences is for, maybe sand erosion?
Sunset was on Ocean City's bay side..

I hope you enjoyed my images and post. Thanks for stopping by for a visit and for your nice comments. Have a happy day and weekend ahead.

Ocean City and the beaches: Rehoboth, Bethany, and Dewey...I remember them all from being in High School in Washington D.C. and those were the beach getaways.
ReplyDeleteLovely pics, Eileen.

Wow those sunsets are stunning. Lovely scenes for sure. I think the balcony railing counts quite well for a fence. This looked like a really wonderful place. I enjoyed all your photos very much.

ReplyDeleteWonderful photos ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots! My sister and her family were regular visitors to Ocean City when they lived in Maryland, but I never made it there. Seems unlikely for me now that they have all relocated to Texas. I always wanted to visit Assateague Island too.
ReplyDeleteBeen years since I was in Ocean City. Great memories! You captured the sky color well!
ReplyDeleteHow nice of the horses to serve as greeters!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous views of the sky.
ReplyDeleteThose are very serene shots, they can induce to just sitting in a hammock and read a book with a cup of coffee at the side. Your area between the mountains and the ocean is the bigger counterpart of where i live in the province! Yes heavenly place.

It are very nice shots only I am a little disturbed by the tilting horizon in the most of your pic's. It would make the photo's perfect without it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful series of shots. I know clouds really add to a sunset scene, but I love your second shot with the clear sky and the bird silhouettes.
ReplyDeleteSuch beauty in this post Eileen and I love the horses on the beach, and your sky scenes are beautiful. Happy Weekend~
ReplyDeleteEileen, sometimes I can't find the right words to describe the beauty of your photos and scenery. The sky views are gorgeous and as always your critters are always interesting.
