Welcome to Saturday's Critters !
If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!
I have lots more from Edwin B. Forsythe NWR in New Jersey. It was very ducky, high numbers of Northern Pintails, Black Ducks and the Mute Swans. Many Egrets and Great Blue Herons, I was in birdie heaven. Snapping away and looking here and there, afraid to miss something. The one I missed was a Eurasion Wigeon that was being seen for a few days. I did see an American Wigeon.
I am not positive about the smaller of the two below, the larger is the Great Egret. But, the smaller wader looks to have greenish legs maybe a juvenile Little Blue Heron or is it a Snowy Egret?
More Mute Swans and various ducks.
The Northern Harrier was flying by and shaking up the ducks, every once in awhile the ducks would fly up and around and then land again. The phragmites an invasion plant and common weed seems to be all over the refuge, they have been cut in some places along the drive.
This photo looks better enlarged, please click on it for a better view.
A group of gulls and a cormorant were hanging out near where the water was being controlled.
A gathering of DC Cormorants. We like visiting this refuge twice, once when the tide is high and then again early morning the tide was low. The birds are attracted and to the open mud areas.
I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments !
Here is a list of my linky parties:

This habitat looks very similar to many lake habitats in Bangalore. Migratory season is here and we are seeing many winged visitors from far away lands.
A sharing of my darling Peaches, (she passed away 3 weeks ago) she was very ill but was aware and loving to the last second. The dearest friend.

I like the cormorants. We also see lots of them here in Perth.
Muito lindo de ver e imaginar o cenário por lá, seus cantos e voos! Adorei! Ótimo fim de semana! bjs, chica
I like your ducky shots... and the Northern Harrier.
Have a great weekend!
Hello Eileen,
Wonderful series of photos.
All well photographed.
Do you want to add my link?
Best regards, Irma
Beautiful! I"d love to see swans byHERE. Lucky you. Thanks for hosting Eileen.
I love all your bird photos Eileen. I especially like the ones of the two swans swimming amongst the darker coloured geese. I do love birds of all kinds. Though I'm not really an avid birder I do love all the variety that I see in photos and sometimes if I'm lucky, in person. I laughed when you said you were in birdie heaven. I do feel quite blessed when I get to a place that has a variety of birds for me to enjoy. Have a blessed weekend.
I am like you, can't tell what the second bird is. they are all beautiful. I have seen comorants here, but not more than 2 at one time.
Hari Om
I do rather like cormorants - can't say why I just do! YAM xx
Helllo, Loved the post and amazing pics.
Happy Weekend.
Beautiful photos, Eileen. I love seeing the herons, we have some here that hang down by the pier. It's always a pleasure to see the birds you capture. Thank you for hosting and have a wonderful weekend!
A lovely collection of birds in this reserve, Eileen. Always nice to capture birds in flight - well done!
Hello Eileen,
Beautiful photos! The White Egret is so pretty.
Happy Weekend!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful photos. I hope you have a nice weekend and Thanksgiving week.
You obviously had a great time, Eileen, at what is clearly a wonderful birding destination. My guess for the small heron, based on a fairly inconclusive picture, is juvenile Little Blue Heron. Have a great weekend.
Hi Eileen, I love your Harrier in flight! And the way he stirs up the ducks. Thanks for hosting this meme. Enjoy your day. Jo
You are an amazing birder! I just love them. Have a great weekend!
The swans always look graceful, Eileen.
Have a great new week!
Thanks for hosting.
Very ducky....oh that does sound like birdie heaven! It sure is hard to id all the ducks and water birds but you are GOOD! We are still seeing migrations here in Florida! Big flocks of birds flying over! Enjoy your weekend! Happy Saturday!
I love seeing all the birds, especially the Cormorants. Great photo of the Northern Harrier, too!
Have a wonderful weekend!
The egrets look like the ones I have in my post, don't know if they are the same type. So nice to see so many birds in the bird's heaven. Have a wonderful weekend!
There is something about birds in flight that makes my heart sing. And oh, I love these!
Liking the “critters” in the midst of golden, brown fallish color.
So many beautiful birds. Have a wonderful weekend!
I never thought of the differences with tide in and out as far as birds are concerned.
Happy Saturday. Great shot of the Harrier's white patch. They are amazing hunters.
What a wonderful set of birds!
So many birds Eileen. You really needing to be looking in all directions there. It's always nice to watch a harrier beating up and down. They sure keep the other birds on their toes don't they? Thanks for the chance to join in today. Enjoy your weekend.
aw, marvelous day on the marsh
Yep, looks like birdie heaven ~ lovely nature photos! ^_^
Happy Day to you,

Hello Eileen! I sure enjoyed this post and can see why you called it birdie heaven! :-) You got some excellent photos at Edwin B. Forsythe NWR! This morning I have been putting together a post for John's Island when I thought ... It's Saturday and I should include something so I can link up with Saturday's Critters. Your guidelines say it is OK to use "pretend" critters. :-) So, I recalled the critters my room steward made for me while on my recent cruise. I think it might be a Brachiosaurus. What do you think? Have a happy weekend and thanks for sharing and hosting.
it looks like such a great spot, i must go!! i had hoped to visit this weekend but the hubs has a "man cold" and he is really "suffering"!!
funny the behavior of the harrier and the ducks, i have never seen a harrier in the wild. the photo you suggested i enlarge is a great image...i am always amazed and happy to see the large groups. always in the center of the lake making pictures difficult!!
i have been seeing a lot of our migrating ducks. i don't know if they stay or are just passing through. i guess time will tell!!
have a great weekend eileen, i think we are expecting a lot of sunshine!!
Very nice selection, I was trying to remember the iD for egrets better. Some has different colored legs and beak and others match. I see quite a few through the summer here, but most have left.
you always amazed me with your knowledge about birds..
Love the great variety of birds. We got our first harrier this past week. The gray bill with dark tip along with those greening legs do fit immature Little Blue Heron.
Wonderful bird pics! I went out last weekend with a neighbor who is an avid bird photographer. We saw snow geese and sandhill cranes. I had a great time and even got a few good images.
...you sure found a great collection! Thanks for hosting.
Love your harrier pic, Eileen! Thanks for hosting us and giving us such a good tour of that area!
Beautiful Saturday collection, I love the Great Egret, fantastic.
Quite a parade of birds Eileen, great pics :) Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)
waw...wonderful photos...I enjoy to see swans. thank you for sharing.

I love the Northern Harrier photograph.

Bird watchers heaven has been discovered! Love the photos!
Wonderful photos as usual, Eileen. Love that shot with the Northern Harrier...
It would be nice to sit and watch the water birds and you have some great . photos.
Merle..................
Another fun set of photos, Eileen! A blog that I read yesterday in France had Egrets on it - For whatever reason, I never thought of their being anywhere but here. I guess not! :-)
Lovely water bird photos!
As always Eileen...Thanks so much for linking in & sharing with us at I'd Rather B Birdin" this week.

Happy Sunday to you Eileen, what a lovely view, especially the rich blue waters. I miss them already, thinking of the white frosty ice that will arrive sooner than I wish! Your critters are always a delight. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Good Duck shots.. As always Great picture! Nice series. Hope you're having a great weekend. Enjoy your week. Happy Thanksgiving.
I miss those days! Not much of any wildlife around anymore. But, I did see 3 bullfinches in the tree this morning. I hope they will be back. I did not get any shots of them.
Beautiful photos, Eileen. There is something so serene about seeing the birds on water. I hope you're enjoying this month of November, my friend.
