My post is on dogs and more dogs. I have always been a dog lover, during our travels I tend to greet any dog I see on the trails. These are some of the dogs hubby and I have met in various places. A few birds are included...
1. A pretty Collie was seen on a beach near the Palm Coast, during one of our many Florida trips.
3. I met this cute puppy while waiting for my hubby who was hiking up a mountain trail in Colorado.
4. Sol Duc Falls in Washington, hubby sat on a bench and this dog walked over and practically sat in my hubby's lap.
5. This dog was waiting for it's human to return.
6. All the dogs we met have been very friendly and well behaved.
7. This was another cute puppy we met on the trails at Lake Parker Florida.
8. Some times we came across dogs meeting other dogs on the trail. This was one of our regular Florida walks, the trails at Lake Parker.
9. We also met a lot of birds on our walks, Lake Parker was a very "birdie" park. Some times the birds were right on the trail. Below is the Roseate Spoonbill and a couple of Wood Storks standing on the bridge. We had to wait till they moved off.
10. This is Peaches, she was our neighbor's dog when we lived in Lakeland Florida.
11. This was a new sight for hubby and I to see on our bike trail. Apparently you can book a ride with this sled dog adventure. On this day it looked like a group of girl scouts were going to be going for the sled rides.
12. Maryland Sled Dog Adventures on the NCR trail. These dogs looked and sounded so happy, very excited to start running.
I didn't hear GO, I tried to get a shot of them taking off but I looked up from my camera they were down the trail already. The sled has wheels but when we have snow on the ground they use a regular sled.

That's a beautiful dog collection! We know at least three pandemic puppies in our town, all really lovable. It's so hard to get good photos, I'm impressed by yours.
ReplyDeletebest... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Thank you Mae! I just watched a news report were puppies were being stolen, they called them Pandemic Puppies.
DeleteEveryone wants a dog while they are home during the lockdowns.
Take care, have a happy weekend!
Hello, of course, birds must be included ;) they look funny on the bridge, just like regularną pedestrians. Doggies are cute.
ReplyDeleteThank you Klara! It was a good spot to see the birds, they liked the bridge.
DeleteTake care, have a happy weekend!
From the photos, the dogs you and hubby met were so friendly and well behaved. They love and trust humans. How wonderful to experience a sled ride pulled by the dogs.

I didn't know you had LIVED in Lakeland. I thought you just visited there.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and our son graduated from Florida Southern. We loved Lakeland and considered moving there. I miss it. It's a wonderful part of Florida.
Thanks Dee! We bought a place in Lakeland July 2016 and stayed till March 2017. I did not care for the neighborhood, but we had a great time while we were there. Take care, enjoy your weekend!

This is your last episode of Saturday Critters under the Trump Misadministration, Eileen. So much environmental damage was done during four short years it is going to be a very long way back.
ReplyDeleteThank you David! I think Biden can get thing started with the help of the Senate. He can not do everything by himself, he needs help. I think he has picked a great cabinet and agency appointees.

DeleteYes, Peaches is a cute dog.
Take care, have a happy weekend!
these are so wonderful to me, I do the same thing, or did when I used to go out hiking. every single photo today warms the cockles of my heart. Storks are a favorite bird of mine, I like the birds that lean towards ugly, like pelicans and storks and vultures. i once met a doodle in Walmart, shocked to see him sitting by his owner who was sitting on a bench waiting for RX... i wanted to take him home
ReplyDeleteHello Sandra,
DeleteI am still going back and forth about getting another dog, I do miss having a dog. I love the Storks and Pelicans too, the Vultures are not that bad looking. Take care, have a happy day!
Lovely post Eileen. I grew up with a dog always in the house. Once married and working full time it felt impossible to own a dog. Nowadays I just enjoy meeting other people's dogs. Such wonderful creatures. Thanks for the link today. Enjoy your weekend 🤠
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil!
DeleteHave a great weekend!
I'm a dog person too, Eileen, so I especially appreciate today's post! I always stop and say hello to people walking their dogs when I'm out and dogs always come and say hello to me - they know who loves them, right?
ReplyDeleteThank you Nick!
DeleteDog's are very smart, they do know who loves them.
Have a great weekend!
PS: Thank you for hosting, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteThanks again Nick!
DeleteEnjoy your day!
Aren't they sweet! What a nice theme for a post. Good to see them on a leash. Thanks for hosting.

Hi Eileen... Lovely pictures of these beautiful dogs... I love this ❤️... Happy weekend 😊
ReplyDeleteThank you Ana!
DeleteHave a great weekend!
how wonderful :) Love to see them all. But, of coures the puppys goes straight to the heart.
ReplyDeleteLoved to see the Sled Dog Adventures. When I visited the north part of Norway the lodge we stayed at had one. I was hoping to be able to get a ride in the snow. But as we were on a birding trip it wasn´t. And I´m still disappoined of that.
Take care! Wish you a great weekend.
Thank you Monica!
DeleteA sled dog ride does look like fun.

Take care, have a great weekend!
I enjoy taking walks, which of course are good for our health too! Many times I meet dogs who are friendly, and will take their pics. I guess I've got them somewhere or another. I'm glad other people own dogs. I loved the shot of the birds on the bridge, and of course you waited for them to let you pass!
ReplyDeleteThank you Barbara!
DeleteI miss having a dog, but I am flipping back and forth over having another dog now.
Take care, have a happy weekend!
I love seeing all the adorable dogs! I would have waited for those wood storks to move too, they are such creepy looking birds lol. Have a great weekend Eileen :)

DOGS have been a big part of my life since I was a wee girl and even tho I say this will be the last go around for me, it will be hard to resist because so many need homes...Adopt before buying.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed this post very much...Happy week upcoming.
Thank you Sondra!
DeleteI heard the dog shelters were empty, due to people wanting dogs while they were on the COVID lockdown.
Take care, have a happy weekend!
Hi Eileen, What a neat post with all the dog photos. During my seven decades :-) there were two times when I had a dog. The first was when I was just a kid and my dog met me at the bus stop every day when I got home from school. The second was later in life. Loved him but had to let him go when I moved to Washington State and moved into an apartment that would not allow pets. Yet another dog is still on the want list when the time is right. I enjoyed all your photos. I also noticed that, in the photo with hubby, he has a nice pair of binoculars. I always know a serious birder when I see them with their binoculars. :-) Thanks for another fine Saturday's Critters. Have a happy weekend, take care, and stay well. PS Maryland Sled Dog Adventures = how cool is that! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you John! I grew up with dogs in my family.
DeleteGoldie Girl was our last dog and I am undecided whether I want another dog. Hubby always carries the binocs.
Take care, have a happy weekend!
Nice photos of some very well trained dogs. It looks like people are becoming better dog trainers and they're not letting the dogs train the owners.
ReplyDeleteHello Red, thank you for the comment!
DeleteTake care, have a happy weekend!
Oh Eileen, this was a fantastic post!! I LOVE dogs...they are all so adorable...those huskies. Really, I'm sure I've said this before, but our husky Charlie MUST have been the leader of a pack of sled dogs before we rescued her...does she ever pull, and she bucks like a bronco when she wants to run lol...Peaches is adorable and so are the puppies. Collies have a big spot in my heart, they are so sweet looking. When I was a kid we had a collie names Ginger...I still miss her!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, thanks for the comment about the birds. I thought about Pine Siskins and I'll have to look up Redpolls!
Thank you Rain!
DeleteMy grandmother had 2 collies, she loved dogs as much as I did.
Pine Siskins and Redpolls look similar, they have that streaky look on their chest.
Take care, have a happy weekend!
All these dogs are so cute and photogenic :) My favorite is number 10. She looks so friendly and has a soft fur to cuddle :)

ReplyDeleteI love that spoonbill - I presume he goes fishing from the bridge regardless of what the sign says!!
Thank you Mxx!
DeleteI think the Spoonbill is safer on the bridge, a gator used to hang out below the bridge.

Hi Eileen,
ReplyDeletethere are again many beautiful links with some different animals. You can always put a blog of mine in your critters, huh. Really, I really don't understand why that doesn't work for me !!! ????
Greetings, Helma
Thank you Helma!
DeleteI can enter your link on tomorrow's post.
Have a great weekend!
Hi, Eileen,
ReplyDeleteI hope your eyes are better today. Now and then I get "light shows" that the doctor said are ocular migraines. It starts off small and has to get to its until size to disappear. I think I'd rather have the light show than the headache.
I love seeing the variety of cute dogs. It has me wanting to start lobbying the Husband and Molly the pinky-nosed (wilde) Cat about inviting a dog into our home.
