A few weeks back hubby and I took a daytrip to Shenandoah National Park and the Skyline Drive. These are some of the scenes we saw at the park and on the drive. My post below shows more of the Shenandoah-birds-and-critters

Above a Shenandoah Black bear, a view of the Shenandoah valley, wildflowers, deer, horses on the trail, cabbage white, Towheee, Blue-headed Vireo, fawn and momma deer.
We saw many birds and butterflies. Lots of deer and three different black bears along the Skyline Drive.

The view from the Upper Hawksbill trail. It is the highest point of the Skyline Drive. Our first time doing this hike and it was well worth the hike for the beautiful view.

We are heading out on the Blue Ridge Parkway on August 16th...ending up in Pigeon Forge for 4 days. I can't wait! I love the photo ops on the Parkway - and I am SO hoping to see a bear this time! Your photos are great from your trip!

Had to open these up to their full size to appreciate all the beauty. What a view! Great captures of the wildlife and the horse riders and the birds and butterflies. Beautiful!
What wonderful wildlife sitings. We've enjoyed that drive a few tims and seen lots of deer...but never a bear! WOW!

What incredible landscapes you have and such abundant wildlife! I love seeing scenery from other countries, it really makes me want to travel. America is definately on my travel list! Once the kids get old enough to appreciate it we are on our way! :)

That was such a beautiful hike. You saw lots of fun things. Isn't it always interesting that you never know what you'll find? Sometimes there are a lot of animals and birds....while other times, it's super quiet. Just all depends.:) I'd love to be on one of those hikes!
