Saturday's Critters #82

Saturday's Critters #82

It's Saturday and it's time to share your critters.. Any kind of critter will do, even a new or old post.. I appreciate everyone who has linked up in the past and for those who are linking in on this week's critter party. And of course I always appreciate my blogging friends stopping by just for a visit.

I want to thank Mersad of Mersad Photography for mentioning my blog on his post titled 10 Wildlife Blogs to follow. I am honored to be included with this wonderful list of bloggers. Mersad, you are so kind. Thank you again!

I am sharing some more birds from our visit to the Homosassa Spring Wildlife Park. The birds are Florida native birds, most of which have been rescued and are being rehabbed.

The cool Crested Caracara

A pair of Roseate Spoonbills.

Brown Pelicans showing off their breeding colors.

Wood Duck with turtles.

Wood Duck, turtles and Florida's Great White Heron.

The Florida Great White Heron is seen with the pink legs.

Pink Flamingos,  juveniles and adult White Ibis. The Pink Flamingo is not native to all of Florida but has been seen in extreme southern end of Florida. I hope you enjoyed my critter post and now I am looking forward to seeing your critters. Thanks for participating, for your visits and nice comments. Have a happy weekend!

Thanks to Tex Theresa aka Tex, I was able to add this link up button and thanks to  Jennifer for creating my photo badge.

It is wonderful images and great to see. I´m not sure we have any place like this in Sweden. I know there are a few private people that are allowed to take care of injured birds. But no parks.

Thanks for hosting :)

Your birds are fabulous, I like the Brown Pelicans with the arches in their necks, and the pale blue on the heads of the Roseate spoonbills, and the Flamingos are so colorful, they must have been eating lots of shrimp.

Outstanding! - my pick is the log with the wood duck, turtles and white heron.

You know, Eileen, I think pet stores should pay a portion of all sales for wildlife rehabs. Something should be done to support these groups. Then there are the fishermen, who hurt the birds.
Your photos are amazing, as always!
P.S. appointment with a radiation oncologist Monday afternoon. We'll see how that goes.

Brian King said...

Caracaras are just awesome looking birds! One day I'd like to see spoonbills and flamingos! Woodies have gorgeous colors! Glad they're getting "fixed" up here. Great photos! Ironic thing is I'm a fisherman and I've never hurt birds.

Phil Slade said...

Brilliant pictures today Eileen. The Crested Caracara is the tops for me but the rest are almost as great. Thanks for inviting me along today and have a lovely weekend.

Hi Eileen, I have seen all of these birds in the wild here in Florida other than the Flamingo. I have seen a pair of Flamingoes in flight in the TX Gulf of Mexico near Galveston. Have a wonderful coming week. Glad you liked Homosassa Park.

J said...

God bless those people who operate the sanctuary and care for injured birds. The Caracara looks like a penguin from a glance! I wonder if that's the protection from predators. They'd do a double-take - "WHAT? A penguin?! HERE?" and move on, shaking their heads in disbelief!
All the photos are striking, but the one with birds and the glistening water behind - my, my! A MASTERPIECE!

Great photos, Eileen. That Caracara is magnificent-looking and I love the snazzy Brown Pelicans.
