Welcome to Saturday's Critters!
Hello and happy Saturday!
If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!
1. Nov 3rd, I was putting my feeders away for the night and I looked up and saw this bunny watching me. It is a cutie.
4. The Northern Cardinal can be seen in my yard every day. The female below was standing on my deck railing looking for seeds to eat.
Birds in Maryland and in the news, not that I am running out to see these birds. This past week a SNOWY OWL and a Mountain Bluebird have been sighted in Maryland. I have seen the Snowy Owl a few times in Maryland and I did not want to be one seen trespassing or stressing out the bird. The Mountain Bluebird I have also seen in Colorado and in Wyoming.

1. Nov 3rd, I was putting my feeders away for the night and I looked up and saw this bunny watching me. It is a cutie.
2. I have been seeing more American Goldfinches at my feeders, you can just barely make out a reflection of one Goldfinch on the feeder.
3. Nov 4th, our weather is sunny and warmer. The temps were in the high 60's. I can go days or even weeks without seeing the Goldfinch and then all of sudden they are back. I keep checking out my feeders hoping for a Pine Siskin or some other new winter bird. No luck, yet. I am happy to see all or any bird in my yard and at my feeders.
4. The Northern Cardinal can be seen in my yard every day. The female below was standing on my deck railing looking for seeds to eat.

5. My throwback photos of a Maryland Snowy Owl and seen in Colorado a Mountain Bluebird. I do not keep a state bird list, I am just happy I have already seen these two birds.

They are all so cute.
ReplyDeleteHello Diane!
DeleteThank you for the comment!
Take care, enjoy your day!
That is a cute bunny. Its wonderful to have all the above birds coming to your feeder. The birds that come to visit my garden are usually the common house sparrows and some others which I do not know their names. Thank you for hosting and have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy!
DeleteTake care, enjoy your day!
Beautiful photos. I hope Miss Cardinal puts on a little weight before cold weather sets in.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dee!
DeleteTake care, enjoy your day!
I agree Eileen We should not go chasing birds as it will stress them out. It must have been a special moment when you saw a Snowy Owl. Thanks for hosting, sttay safe and have a wonderful weekend
ReplyDeleteThank you Margaret!
DeleteTake care, enjoy your day!
Your feeder looks really successful! We are at war with squirrels again, and have bought a new, more squirrel-resistant one, but the birds aren't used to it yet.
ReplyDeletebe well... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Thank you Mae!
DeleteThe squirrels always find a way to the feeders.
Take care, enjoy your day!
Lovely photo of the bunny, my favourite.
ReplyDeleteFabulous bird photos too.
Thank you for the comment!

It is fun to watch the birds everyday and see the seasonal rotation. Sometimes early and sometimes late. Your shots are always enjoyable

ReplyDeleteThank you Chica!

Hello Eileen. You have wonderful birds in your yard. It is true, that the bird gets stressed when there are a lot of birdwatchers around. The Snowy owl is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.
Thank you Anu!
DeleteIt seems in my state, the birders and photographers are at war.
Take care, enjoy your day!
Hi Eileen,
ReplyDeleteWhat great photos you show again and that all made in your garden.
Photo 4 is my favorite, this species only occurs in a zoo in the Netherlands.
Would you like to post my link, I cannot do that myself.
Have a great weekend and stay healthy.
Thank you Irma!
DeleteTake care, enjoy your day!
Hello Eileen,
ReplyDeleteThe bunny is very beautiful. My neighbour have two bunnies, and they are so funny to watch.
Your feeders are very much visited.
Happy weekend!

ReplyDeleteThank you Bill!

Did you ready my mind Eileen? I was just on the way to visit when up popped your comment. I'm with you. The twitchers in our area stress out birds all the time. It's like a procession. I know because I follow the WhatsApp groups and see their silly comments that encourage the other loons to follow. I hope you see a Snowy of your own soon this winter.
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil! It appears, this Snowy Owl is so popular attracting crowds of people walking into the field. I am not sure why they feel it is their right to trespass or chase the Owl. The administrator on the Maryland Bird facebook page has asked that no one post the location of any owl. They have purposely made it fly so they could take their photos. I have been lucky in previous years to find a Snowy Owl on my own, it is nice to see one without a crowd of people around. My camera has great zoom, so I do not have to get close to any bird. Take care, enjoy your weekend.
DeleteA few Snowy Owls have returned to these parts too, so before long all the yahoo photographers will be trespassing on farmers' fields and baiting the owls with mice so that they can get a flight shot. They are a bunch of selfish slobs with no consideration for a bird resting to conserve energy.
ReplyDeleteThanks David!
DeleteSelfish snobs, that is a good description. These selfish people make it hard for a bird lover to even see a bird. I will not trespass and I just try to take a good look, maybe a photo and move on. Some of these selfish people stay for hours, how many photos do they need? Take care and enjoy your day!
...the snow owl is wonderful, something that I have never seen. Thanks for sharing, take care and enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteThank you Tom!
DeleteThe Snowy Owl is beautiful!
Take care, enjoy your day!
I agree with Bill B. What a nice photo's. Especially that Owl.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the visit and comment.
DeleteTake care, enjoy your weekend!
Dearest Eileen,
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful animal world! The rabbit is really adorable - and you have such a variety of birds in your garden. I am also very enthusiastic about the beautiful snow owl. I have never seen these birds in the wild. And I didn't know the Colorado Bluebird before.
In my post today I unfortunately don't have many "critters" for you, just one butterfly, which is one of the rare species. We call it "Trauermantel" - "Mourning Cloak" - I don't know if that is the correct translation. Its zoological name is Nymphalis antiopa. But all the mountains, forest plants and lakes that I show are also divine creations - so I hope you will accept my post for your linkup! :-)
Happs Weekend!

Hello Traud,
DeleteYou are welcome to join in, I loved your pretty butterfly and the lovely scenic photos.
Thank you for visiting, for the link and comment.
Take care, enjoy your weekend!
Beautiful birds still in your garden. If there is one more bir I really would love to see that would be the Snowy owl. And your Avocet of course, so it makes two on my wishlist. :) Seeing your bunny I remembered I actually had seen a large fat one but forgot about it. So todays post is "memory lane"
ReplyDeleteTake care!
Hello Monica,
DeleteThe Snowy Owl is a beautiful bird, I hope you get to see one.
Thank you for the comment!
Take care, enjoy your day!
Quite a cute bunny.
ReplyDeleteThank you William!
DeleteTake care, enjoy your day!
Love the owl, Eileen (and of course the bunny ;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Nick!
DeleteTake care, enjoy your day!
Beautiful! You can have some of our Siskins...we're covered up in them. I wish the Snowy would make it this far south, but that's rare.
ReplyDeleteThank you Brian!
DeleteI think this will be a great winter for Snowy Owl sightings.
Take care, enjoy your day!
PS: Thanks for hosting, Eileen, and enjoy the new week ahead.
ReplyDeleteThanks again Nick!
DeleteHave a great new week ahead.
we had super warm weather too!!! i used the air conditioning on thursday, upstairs it was 78 and i could not cool it down by opening windows!! today, the heat is on. oh well, isn't that the way it goes sometimes!?!?
ReplyDeletemy goldfinches have a similar pattern, they seem to return when it is colder. the cardinal is gorgeous, come to think of it, i have not been seeing them!!! have an awesome weekend, stay safe and many thanks for hosting!!!
Thanks Debbie!
DeleteI do love the weather when we can open the windows.
Today is colder, I guess a normal late fall temp.
My feeder birds disappear now, I think I have a hawk hanging around.
Have a great day and happy weekend!
Wonderful critters. It's a really cool world. Our cardinal pair are around, too. Lots of chickadees, and some goldfinches, although they are sort of a light green these days! cheerio
ReplyDeleteThank you Jenn!
DeleteI do love the cute chickadees too.
Take care, enjoy your day!
Great shots Eileen. I especially like the sweet bun-bun and the Cardinal. Happy Saturday! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Martha!
DeleteTake care, enjoy your day!
I haven't seen a goldfinch in ages -- I'm not sure why they haven't found my feeder, new seed and all. But the others are coming out as I enjoy the last of fall! Love your beautiful finds and that darling bunny steals my heart!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeanie!
DeleteI do love seeing the sweet bunny.
Take care, enjoy your day!
What a good bunny photo! Loved seeing the owl and all your other birds this morning. I can imagine what the cheeps must sound like in the morning when they arrive for breakfast! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you Barbara!
DeleteThe squirrels have taken over the feeders today.
Take care, enjoy your day!
It's a good time of year to spot different birds. We are seeing all kinds of big flocks fly over. Can't wait to get out today! Love that owl photo! I saw one years ago in Colorado!
ReplyDeleteThank you Diane!
DeleteTake care, enjoy your day!
Hi Eileen :) The snowy owl is gorgeous. I never see owls here, though once in a while I can hear them. I love the bunny shot! He is a cutie! :) I thought about putting bird feeders up but there was no time this year, I'm hoping to do that next spring!
ReplyDeleteThank you Rain!
DeleteIt is exciting to see any owl in the wild.
Take care, enjoy your day!
Gorgeous your garden, with all those birds and a rabbit, but, I love the Snowy Owl, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bob!
DeleteTake care, enjoy your day!
Love the bunny rabbit! And the third one down should be called dinner for 4! They are so cute bellied up to the bird Buffet
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandra!
DeleteThe birds and squirrels do have a choice of feeders in my yard, a buffet for sure!
Take care, enjoy your day!
Love the bunny! I don't see as many birds as I used to since I can only visit my Dad in an isolated location at his care home and no longer have a view out into the gardens there and all of the bird feeders.
ReplyDeleteThank you RedPat!
DeleteI hope your Dad is doing well.
Take care, enjoy your day!
I caught a very brief glimpse of a snowy owl from a train window a couple of years ago. It was a thrill however short lived. I have never seen pine siskins here but with my feeders all up and running now I keep hoping for them to stop by. Your metal feeder looks to be a sturdy one.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jocelyn!
DeleteI thought the feeder was sturdy too, until one night a raccoon carried it to another part of the yard.
Hubby eventually found the feeder. I have to put them all away at night. It is a thrill to see any owl species. Take care, enjoy your day!
Hi Eileen, I always enjoy Saturday’s Critters and today’s post is no exception. I may have mentioned before that my favorite bird is the Mountain Bluebird. However, I may have to reconsider that after this past lockdown summer with my hummingbirds. :-) I am fascinated, and delighted, to hear you’ve seen a Mountain Bluebird in Maryland. Part of my fascination is, coincidentally, I just read a post on the website NextDoor (it’s a what’s going on in the neighborhood thing) that someone saw a Mountain Bluebird here in Seattle. That’s a first for me. Well, in my currently slow pace of blogging, it’s been a while since I linked up with Saturday’s Critters and I’m happy this morning to link up my post about the Hummingbird Lady of Lake Chipala. I hope some of the birders out there will enjoy it. And, by the way, thank you for your kind comment there. Thank you for sharing and hosting Saturday’s Critters. Have a happy weekend and take good care! John
ReplyDeleteHello John,
DeleteI am always happy to see you link up a post, your Hummingbird post and story on Flossie is fascinating.
We have a list of birds being seen in Maryland, most times I am not running out to see them. Especially if I have already seen them in a different area. I appreciate your visit, comment and the link. Take care and stay safe! Have a happy weekend!
My favorite too is the sweet bunny ~great shot ~ Always wonderful bird photography here too ^_^

Interesting how some of these birds come and go. Goldfinches don't overwinter here but pine siskins do and stay in flocks all winter.
ReplyDeleteThank you Red!
DeleteI am still checking on my feeders for a Pine Siskin.
Take care, enjoy your day!
The Colorado Mountain Bluebird is a beauty! We had an 'irruption' of Pine Siskins this week. A first for me to see. Happy Day.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gayle. I am hoping to see the Pine Siskins here. They are being seen all around me.
DeleteTake care, enjoy your weekend!
Lindo el conejito y el buho es bellísimo amiga. Gran post.
ReplyDeleteBuen fin de semana Eileen. Cuidaros
Un abrazo.
Thank you Laura!

Wow! What a lovely series of critters!
ReplyDeleteThe bunny is tender, the female Cardinal is smart and the Owl is so fluffy!
Thanks for bringing up all this cheer to us.
Happy weekend!

Feed the birds, they will come!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!

Like the cute bunny and all birds from your yard.
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen!
DeleteTake care, enjoy your day!
I saw a goldfinch this week as well. Guess I better get some seed they like (as far as I can tell, they don't favor my safflower seed at all). That snowy owl is gorgeous. And of course, the little bunny at the start of your post is very cute. Hope you are enjoying your weekend!
ReplyDeleteHello Jean,
DeleteThank you for the comment and visit.
Take care, have a happy day!
Lovely photos. Rabbits in the garden are always a welcomed sight.
ReplyDeleteThank you Yvonne.

The bunny is adorable. I would dearly love to see a Snowy Owl. One was seen in our area a couple years ago, but I was not blessed with seeing it.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rose!
DeleteThis might be a big year for the Snowy Owl sightings.
Take care, have a happy day!
I’ve seen a bunny here once but didn’t get a great photo. You sure did. Love that female cardinal. I am still waiting to see one of either sex. They have been sighted here this week which is unusual.
ReplyDeleteThank you Marie!

ReplyDeleteThank you Linda!

Another wonderful series of images to enjoy along with my coffee this morning! Thank you, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteLove your Goldfinches! We've seen a few small groups fly over but have yet to get a photo of them this fall.
Hope your new week is filled with joy and peace.
Hello dear Eileen, I scheduled my post early and when it appeared, I forgot to link up with you. Thank you for hosting us and for sharing. I love seeing the Maryland Snowy Owl. I've just read about the Barking Owl in Australia through EC (Sue's) blog. Amazing little bird. And it actually barks like a dog! I trust you're keeping safe and well. Jo
ReplyDeleteYour Snowy Owl is special. Hope you get the Pine Siskins as they are invading in to the US from Canada this year. When we first moved to south Florida in 2004 we put out a feeder in the winter and it attracted a flock of goldfinches, which are not very common here. That was the only year we had the feeder because it was attacked by Muscovy Ducks and pigeons which knocked all the seed out on the ground.
ReplyDeletevery nice pictures
ReplyDeleteI watch for the Pine Siskins too, Eileen...love them and when there's one, there's tons (must be migrating through). , along with the Goldfinches and of course Cardinals, which I also love. The Juncos are another favorite. Gosh, the more I think about it, I really adore them ALL!!...:)jp
ReplyDeletePs...thanks for visiting at Hootin' Anni's. Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteHow lucky you are, Eileen ... your yard is visited almost every day by flocks of Pine Siskin and other birds ... I imagine the beauty and joy of the birds in your yard.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes.
The Northern Cardinal is a beauty! (Certainly the bunny is one, too!)
ReplyDeleteAwww I think the bunny is so cute.
ReplyDeleteLovely birds from your garden/yard too.
All the best Jan
Ohhhhhh ..... I saw a snowy owl in your photos and I think that's really great. In the Netherlands I can only see a snowy owl in the zoo and they will open again next Thursday.
ReplyDeleteThe Cardinal Woman is such a beautiful bird too. Beautiful to see.
so I have not linked again. I was at work at 5:30 am.
I hope I can link the buzzard to you next Saturday.
Greetings
