Happy Monday,
December is rolling right along, the month is nearly half over. Today we are expecting a raining day maybe changing to some snow, temps could be in the high 30's and lows will be in the high 20's. I have done my bit on Christmas decorating and gift buying. So, I am ready for Christmas. Hubby and I will have Christmas dinner just the two of us, I am not sure what is on the menu.
1. I am sharing a mish-mash of photos, from our walks, back yard birds and my cute mini fairy light Christmas trees, the Prettyboy reservoir and our local fire road walk.
2. This is a popular spot for the kids hanging out, fisherman and just people like us out for a walk.
3. From our deck I watched a pretty sunset on Dec 9th.
4. Also on Dec 9th, we had a little snow squall. The flakes were huge, it only lasted about 15 minutes and it melted when it hit the ground. This coming Wednesday we could have a potential storm bringing us 6-12 inches of snow. We will see, it could be less or it could be more..
5. I recently bought these cute little trees with the fairy lights, the extent of my decorating this year is putting red bows on the little trees. I am happy with my little trees, it is not much, but they are all I need now. I did not want to deal with our big tree and all the ornaments.
6. Since our cold weather has started, I am seeing more Northern Cardinals in my yard.
7. The Blue Jay will fuss in the morning, until I come outside with some peanuts.
I wish everyone a peaceful and joyful holiday season, a blessed Advent and a Happy Hanukkah. May your holidays be full of hope, happiness, health and love.
Be safe, wear your mask
and keep your distance. Wishing everyone good health, take care and
stay safe!

Hi Eileen, Neat photos, as always. Your Christmas trees are sweet! Love the Dec 9 sunset! The Prettyboy reservoir looks like a great place for walks. I think you have shown us some of that area before, and I will not get tired of that. I smiled when you said, "Hubby and I will have Christmas dinner just the two of us, I am not sure what is on the menu." Sounds like me and mine. :-) Have a happy day and week ahead! John
ReplyDeleteThank you John! I do appreciate your comments.
DeleteWe are trying to figure out a meal that is tasty, easy and healthy.

Love your little trees with the fairy lights - so cute and pretty. We did get a regular tree this year. It's in the house and half the lights are on it (the other half would light...so more needed...). I'm excited for the snow! Stay warm and safe.
ReplyDeleteThank you Vera!
DeleteI do love the lights, I just didn't want to deal with all the ornaments on a big tree.
I hope you have a great week!
I miss the cardinals from when I lived back East. They are such gorgeous birds. And here in the California mountains, we have scrub jays, very noisy birds, but no blue jays. It sounds like you are ready for Christmas. I will be spending mine alone with my dogs. A different holiday for sure, but it will be OK.
ReplyDeleteThank you Inger!
DeleteI would love to see the Scrub Jays too. Give those dogs some extra hugs.
I hope you have a great week!
In my corner of the world we had rain about a week ago. Since the temperature is well below zero the rain coated everything with a layer of ice. I can't walk on the stuff.
ReplyDeleteThank you Red!
DeleteThe ice is scary to walk on, stay safe.
I hope you have a great week!
Beautiful photos. Nice to be able to walk around the water. At times I miss walking around the lake where we used to live.

lovely mosaics and birds. Beautiful sunset also. You had a little snow, we have only rain so far. I wish for some sunshine so I can take some better pictures. Covid situation is now at the same level as it was in spring so christmas will not be that fun :) But so far my family is healthy.

Hi Eileen :) I love that photo of the cardinal! :) Your "fire road" walks are just beautiful, how nice to have such a beautiful spot to wander. I love the little trees too, we're not doing a tree this year, mainly because there is no room for it until we reorganize the house a little bit. But I hope to find my box of Christmas decorations this week in the big pile of boxes lol! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Rain! The cardinals are beautiful, they looked pretty yesterday in our first snow.
DeleteI do have a big xmas tree and lots of ornaments, I did not feel like dealing with it this year.
