I am linking up with Skywatch Friday
On the weekend hubby and I always pick some place to go for a walk, this past weekend we went to the local Hashawha Nature Center. They have miles of trails, a lake, streams, a raptor center and it is great for birding. The sky was a beautiful blue and it was a lovely day.
A robin perched on the wires with a pretty blue sky for a background.
Hubby and I were trying to figure out what kind of tree this is? It had these little round balls hanging on the branches that the birds were picking at?
I am seeing hawks just about everywhere I go, I believe this is a Red Shouldered.
The full moon looked beautiful last week. I hope you enjoyed my skywatch. As usual thank you for visting my post and for the lovely comments.
To see more beautiful skies from around the world please visit Skywatch Friday. Thanks to the hosting group of Sylvia, Sandy and Wren. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Your photo of the hawk was wonderful! Looks like you were right underneath him! The robins have been having a field day here at home because we have built a new tree bed for the wisteria we had to move...and we have leveled 2 other beds, so they have been enjoying the "free worms" being offered!
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy seeing your pictures, Eileen. What a great area to walk about. The moon shot is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place to spend the day! Loved the birds and the trees. Also the moon shot!
ReplyDeleteRobins are back in full force & hawks are stopping by on occasion. Love the full moon shot. Luna never ceases to amaze me.

ReplyDeleteHi Eileen! I enjoyed each picture.. priceless!
ReplyDeleteloving your moon shot. i wish i knew trees!
ReplyDeleteHi, Eileen,
ReplyDeleteThe tree with the balls looks like a sycamore to me. Beautiful photos on a picture-perfect day. Can't believe I never heard of Hashawha Nature Center while living in MD!
Hi, Eileen,
ReplyDeleteThe tree with the balls hanging from it looks like a sycamore tree to me. Beautiful photos on what looks like a picture-perfect day! Can't believe I didn't know about Harshawha when living in MD.
I haven't a clue to your tree, are the little balls spikey? A Sweet Gum has little balls but it doesn't look like one. Lucky you to see hawks, I have yet to take a photo of one.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots, that big moon is exceptional.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to plan something out for the weekend or weekdays because it gives you something to look forward to....we have rain in the forecast this weekend so I might be limited to house chores and reading:) Love your shot of the hawk. This looks like a nice walk.
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of your blue skies! That moon shot is fantastic... Glad you were able to capture it!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful photos for SWF,Eileen!Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteVery nice photos.
ReplyDeleteRegards and best wishes
Oh Eileen, I can't imagine you would ever want to move -- you live in Paradise! So many great places to go for wildlife viewing. It even seems like you always get good weather and blue skies for your weekends.
ReplyDeleteThere were a great many birds in our trees when Lindy and I went out to the back yard yesterday, but they didn't stick around for portraits. I don't think I've seen a robin yet.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous moon shot, Eileen. Great skywatching!
K
That robin posed very well for you!
ReplyDeleteAhh, so you and I have both been moon watchin! That lake looks like a nice place to walk and see birds!
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, That Red-Shouldered Hawk is great! I also like your photograph of the full Moon. Outstanding! Have a fantastic day tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteGreat walk, Eileen. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies, gorgeous moon and I love the robin and the eagle! Terrific captures for the day, Eileen! You do indeed live in a lovely area! Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
beautiful Eileen...and that moon...wow!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place for a walk...and a super moon shot!
ReplyDeleteYou got a friendly Robin!
ReplyDeleteLovely series.
enjoyed your photos from your walk!
ReplyDeleteNice pics.
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a naturalist but I think the tree is a sycamore tree. Gotta be careful when you are running on a trail near a sycamore because the little balls will turn your foot if you hit one just right.
These are beautiful photos Eileen.
ReplyDeleteSWF
What a lovely place for a walk!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the robin against that blue sky.
Your tree is a sycamore tree. When my brother was young he got part of one of those balls caught in his throat.
Wow, great moon shot! Well done Eileen!
such a pretty hawk, i mostly see them flying around here, but have not been lucky yet this year to capture one perched on a tree
ReplyDeleteLovely place for a walk! I love your Robin shot and the shot of the tree against the blue sky.
ReplyDeleteamazing captures, Eileen!

ReplyDeleteSuch a nice and relaxing place to enjoy some bird watching. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteEileen I can't believe you have so many great places to visit nearby, and you even got a lovely sunny day. The Robin picture is just wonderful - it just shouts "Spring"!
ReplyDeleteI had great fun looking at these photos. Thanks for posting them!
ReplyDeleteGreat captures, Eileen. I don't think I can pick a favorite because they're all so special. You really did have a clear blue sky that day. It looks like spring has sprung.
ReplyDeleteESP from you? Today I looked up a tree and said, I want to take a photo. I did, but just one tree, not like your header.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like my gannets,
Hi there - I like your Moon shot - such a different colour from mine.
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M
Awesome post with a great series of shots. A spectacular moon shot!
ReplyDeleteI agree with those that identify the tree as a sycamore.
