For my Skywatch Friday I have some more of the skies over Gettysburg and a cool looking hawk.
Except for the wind we had a beautiful day at Gettysburg. The sky was a beautiful blue with the puffy white clouds.
A watchful eye and a blue sky! I am guessing this is a Red Shouldered Hawk. But, I have been known to be wrong.
To see more beautiful skies from around the world please visit Skywatch Friday. Thanks to the hosting groups of Sylvia, Sandy and Wren. I hope you enjoyed my skies and I wish everyone a great weekend.

Great blue skies behind the bird which is a cute one. The puffy white clouds always make the sky interesting as does the fine statues.
The skies were beautiful, Eileen, but that hawk! I LOVE the closeup. He definitely has his eye on you...I think red-shouldered also, but, like you, I have occasionally been wrong! Lovely photos this morning!
It's a wonderful day for you. I love the R S Hawk, brilliant.
Hi Eillen,
la foto nr. 1 mi piace moltissimo.
Ma amo anche le atre tue foto !
Un abbraccio e buona giornata, amica mia.
Myriam :)
beautiful! i agree w/ the red-shouldered i.d. they're my favorites here, too.
Excellent shot of that hawk! It looks like such wonderful fresh air. And the clouds are wonderful....
Love your skies, but the variety of images in the forground are marvelous especially that hawk!
What a beautiful looking day. Could use some sunshine here.
Beautiful skies Eileen but that bird, WOW
Always wanted to visit the Civil War battle fields. My husband and I kind of planned on doing trips like that once he retired, but he died before he got to retire, so....
Gorgeous blue sky! WoW! Is that a barn? You should swing by & link up to Barn Charm on Monday =)
Hello - beautiful shot of the hawk and what wonderful feathers on the Blue Jay in your previous blog - our jays over here are quite colourful- pink - blue and black and white - but they keep mainly to the woods - and don't visit the feeders - well not in my garden - have a lovely weekend - Jane UK
I want to see some blue sky too ;-) I've not seen an once of it since end of November and it starts to be long... Tahnks for sharing these superb image, my heart got warmer again ;-)

Beautiful skies! I love the statue in the second photo. I wonder what that is all about. Your hawk is indeed cute. It has such a short tail. Love it!

I loved seeing some more of that great trip. Is it a red-shouldered hawk? I think so.
Gorgeous skies, but today it is that incredible hawk that has captured me! What awesome shots, Eileen!! I feel as though I'm looking him in the eye! Terrific post for the day! Thanks for sharing the beauty1 Enjoy your weekend!
Sylvia
Great shots, I love the hawk ones.
You get wonderful captures of birds against the skies always.
Wonderful sculptures against gorgeous skies!
But, those hawk shots steal the show!! Excellent captures Eileen!
Beautiful skies that offset the grandeur of the statues, Eileen. Quite appropriate that you also included the hawk photos. Very nice!
My dad use to "drag" my sister and I around to all the Civil War areas when we were kids. I haven't been to Gettysburg in years.
Wonderful sighting of the red shoulder, agee some of the hawks are so difficult to ID.
beautiful sculptures and skies. the bird is gorgeous.
The statues against the sky are really gorgeous!
Great shots of the sculptures.
Beautiful shots of the battlefield! And the hawk is a bonus. Even with the crowds, there is a respectful serenity on the battlefield.
A watchful eye, a hungry bird.
oh, beautiful images, and the hawk's are capturing one's imagination, what is he thinking?
That bird on the picture sure has a character! Beautiful sky... I have a bird feeder in the little garden and am trying to shoot a picture of a red cardinal, but the moment he "sees" me, he flies away.
beautiful photos,Eileen! have a great weekend!
Indeed a beautiful day with lovely puffy clouds.
I love the colors of the landscape, does not show a hint of winter. The bird is playing a watchful eye!
What a luck to catch a hawk and flyffy blue clauds...
Have a nice weekend!
Wonderful silhouettes and such lovely blue skies!
Great skies from the battlefield. If you get back to Gettysburg make sure to check out Bodys Bears pretty interesting
What a fine SWF post, Eileen!
«Louis» particularly likes the second image.
Every sky has beauty in it, but some are more special than others. The fluffy white on blue is just lovely.
Nice looking hawk and wonderful blue skies Eileen - have a good weekend.
I've never been there but now i feel as though I have. What a beautiful shot of the hawk!!
Beautiful shots of some very familiar subjects for us. We love the battlefield and the memorials.

Wow, great capture of the hawk... crystal clear shot!
I love your big old blue skies and big white fluffy clouds.
I never really understood the Civil War battlefields attraction until last summer when we visited Vicksburg. Now I'm quite eager to visit Gettysburg.
